Julie is a Licensed Social Worker who uses both traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy in treating anxiety, depression, stress, and ADHD, as well as helping with life transitions, relationship issues, coping skills, and self esteem. Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy is an offshoot of traditional cognitive therapy that combines the strengths of a mindfulness practice with modern therapeutic methods to help clear the emotional blocks holding us back. Mindfulness allows individuals to find space between stimulus and response, this gives them the ability to pause long enough to choose how they want to respond to a situation rather than continuing to react in destructive ways. This simple tool can be life changing and can enhance your relationships with others in the world. Appropriate for kids, teens and adults.
For those of you who prefer the outdoors and movement "walk and talk" therapy also available.
Julie also has certification in teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, the most widely researched program known to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
